A few things I’m proud of from my time in the Microsoft community. Going from zero Azure knowledge in 2017 to a Microsoft MVP in under two years, and then being recognised with the Digital Revolution Awards in both the UK and globally, is a reminder that hard work really does pay off.
Microsoft MVP — Azure (7 Years)#

The Microsoft MVP award recognises exceptional community leaders who share their passion, technical expertise and real-world knowledge with others. I was first awarded MVP for Azure in 2019 and have been renewed every year since for my work blogging, speaking, running the Glasgow Azure User Group, co-hosting the On Air in the Cloud podcast and helping organise community events such as the Festive Tech Calendar.
Digital Revolution Awards 2023#
The Digital Revolution Awards celebrate the people and organisations driving innovation across the Microsoft ecosystem. In 2023 I was nominated by Nigel Frank International and went on to win the Outstanding Contribution to the Microsoft Community category — first for the UK, and then the overall Global award.

I found out I'd won while flying home from the MVP Summit in Redmond — the first award I had ever been put forward for.

Having won the UK category, I was then selected as the overall Global winner across the UK, North America and DACH regions. Read the post.
